   Even if there was a large cash influx I don't think it has a chance of   
   being done right. The magic is just not there any more. Whatever writing   
   synergy Rob and Doug had when the show was in its prime would need to be   
   recreated and I'm not sure they would be the ones to recreate that vibe   
   any more. Plus the actors are a bit too old now... well Rimmer's lack of   
   moving up in rank would get funnier as he gets older but the Lister   
   character works better as a young guy who doesn't know where he's   
   heading in life and doesn't care.
