   I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.  My arguement is   
   that characters evole and have done so over the course of the entire   
   show.  Why shouldn't a 10 year break have some kind of effect on the   
   characters?   
      
   Kryten didn't start off in S3 like he ended up in S8.  He changed over   
   time.  Same with Lister.  In the early episodes, he still had the   
   attitude of the lowest ranked guy on the ship, but a few years later,   
   he's the leader.   
      
   Same kind of chages could happen with age.
