   I couldn't agree more Fozzi.   
   The only thing him and Rimmer really have in common is that everyone   
   hates them. The second lowest ranking person on the ship, as opposed   
   one of the highest ranking?, it doesn't quite work the same.   
      
   The biggest difference for me though, is the believability aspect. The   
   premise of RD has a lot more credibility than HD. I mean, who would put   
   that bunch in charge of a hyper-drive ship in the first place? Not   
   going to happen is it. I guess you could say the same about sending   
   Rimmer to do repairs on the drive plate, but that's nearly just   
   nit-picking. And lets not even go into the subject of "aliens".    
      
   The main thing that hyperdrive has going for it imo, is that its a   
   British space-opera Sitcom. Lets face it, how many have there been? I   
   can't remember any American ones either. The odd movie maybe, Dr.   
   Strangelove, is about it. Or were there others?
