It was mentioned in the series 8 book that the people on the Red Dwarf
newsgroup hated it. The impression I got was how *dare* we dislike
someting that so much time, effort and most importantly *money* had
gone into producing. It was almost as if he thought we were ungrateful
sods for not appreciating something he thought was great, and that we had
some kind of a 'duty' to like it because of all the effort that went into
   making it.
