   Good point.   
   Eurasia is a better description for this landmass.   
      
   In fact if you look at the globe 'Europe' looks pretty pathetic just   
   tagged onto the vast land expanse of 'Asia'.   
      
   I guess it's merely a historical thing as Europe was culturally very   
   different from Asia and it was Euopeans that explored, colonised   
   and ultimately created much of the modern world.   
   So Europe get's treated as a 'continent' even though in reality   
   it's a mere appendage of a far larger landmass.
