I'm not sure how it could be considered "elitist" let alone "bullshit"
to feel that a series of a tv show isn't as good as the preceding ones.
It's a simple opinion and it's an opinion that a lot of people share so
there's bound to be something to it. Quite often shows go on a little
too long and are therefore weaker in the end. The X-Files, for example,
should have stopped a few seasons before it did. I've heard that series
3 of The Mighty Boosh isn't nearly as good and while that's
disappointing, it's not a surprise... the novelty is gone. Red Dwarf had
a pretty damn good run of good series before it went off. Honestly,
Emohawk was the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned. Duane
Dibbly and Ace Rimmer made no sense in that episode and it seemed they
were running out of fresh ideas at that point. Adding Kochanski changed
the dynamic that made the show what it was and it felt like a
desperation move to keep the male audience interested. Plus, I don't
   like a whiny Kryten!
