   Not American myself but, inspite of my own personal left wing tendencies, im   
   starting to think McCain might win, He is having a remarkably clear run in   
   the Republican primaries with enough of a lead to keep the other republican   
   contenders reasonably polite towards him (in hopes of being offered the Vice   
   Presidential ticket in his campaign)  whereas Hillary and Obama have been   
   tearing shreds off each other, once again the Democrats seem to have   
   forgotten that the mud thrown during the primaries can actually stick long   
   enough to cause serious problems in the real race.   
   The primary system is a bit nonsensical anyway, Americans in many states can   
   write any name they want on their ballot paper and have it count as a   
   legitimate vote, IOW while it certainly helps there is no legal necessity   
   for the president to be selected from among the official candidates, indeed   
   many americans (let alone non americans ) might be surprised that donald   
   duck, mickey mouse or bugs bunny winning voting booths is not unheard of in   
   especially apathetic electoral years
