   I kind of figured it wouldn't pick up where series 8 ended. I'm guessing   
   with being on this Dave channel and all the hype, they were hoping for   
   new audience members as well as die-hard fans. Trying to tie up a   
   cliff-hanger would make it difficult to follow for anyone who hadn't   
   seen it before. So, it was more of a stand-alone story.   
      
   It would be nice to see if they had a follow-up in mind for Series 8 but   
   I understand why they didn't go there.
