I'm rather enjoying it. I like the idea that they have no control       of the ship and are still trying to figure everything out. I love that       type of story though where people are put in an alien situation and have       to figure out how things work and what its purpose is, like the book       Rendevous with Rama by Arthur C. Clark.              I hated Star Trek Voyager on the other hand. I mean they were travelling       in a relatively straight line toward earth, so how is it that they never       seemed to leave the vicinity of a particular race of aliens (I don't       recall their name) with whom they would constantly fight. The answer, is       that the people behind the Star Trek franchise believe viewers need a       recognizable alien enemy to pop up on a regular basis so that action       figures of them will sell well. Then there was the evolution episode       where they got to warp 10 (or something) and it caused the captain and       the blond guy to "evolve" at a massively accelerated rate into...       lizards! WTF?! That is when I stopped watching.              --       Starbugaboo              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
