I have checked back every so often as well, hoping against hope that
some fantastic development has happened, but I think this latest
period has been the longest I have gone without posting anything.

I still haven't seen them, to be honest. The Seattle PBS station has
not played any RD in years, and I just never got around to
renting/downloading the latest batch. After seeing the
less-than-enthusiastic response here, it got pushed to the back burner
and has stayed there. It's next on my list, though. Right after
   "learn Portuguese".

And the activity here just turned out to be a blip. I'm not sure how
much of that has to do with ATVRD being dead and how much of that has
to do with Usenet being dead.

The "Eternal September" is over and many ISPs are removing Usenet from
their offerings. I know that Google Groups is there and there are web
front-ends for Usenet, but I think people are moving away from the
medium in general. As such, I guess ATVRD is a victim of that larger
   shift in internet access.

   >At least you got a wife out of alt.tv.red-dwarf (perhaps you were
   >only expecting a tie?) all I've got are the memories :(

That was a one-in-a-billion stroke of luck that Heather and I met and
ended up getting married. This year will be our 10th wedding
anniversary, our daughter is 18 months old, and we have known each
other for 12 years - and we owe it all to Red Dwarf.

I have lots of fantastic memories of all of the people I met here over
the years - so don't dismiss the memories.

   >Good to hear from you again Steve, anyway.

Likewise, Colin. Maybe one of these days we'll all get the news we've
   been waiting for.

Question: If paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors
beats paper, what beats all 3 at the same time?

   Answer: Chuck Norris.
