|    Back to Earth...GREAT STUFF! ... serious    |

From: svcdme123@gmail.com              At long last, some really GOOD Red Dwarf. Series 7 completely lacked any       inventive writing. And series 8 had reduced the characters to what was       intended to be slap stick, but came off as silly.              Red Dwarf back to Earth could have simply been the show after series 6       and would have fit in nicely...well, there would be explaining how       they got back on the Big red one without a crew. But that       says alot about what was lacking in series 7 and 8.              Loved the Russian Hologram. Talk about hot! Too bad it was all a dream.       This little mini series could have been called simply 'Back to       reality - part 2'.              Some serious wierdness...like there being a series 9 AND SERIES       10...remember they read at the video store that it all takes place AFTER       series 10.              And, of course, Rimmer outsmarting death in another dimension (series       8) has it's perks...like getting back to your ship with fellow crew       members also back....and no crew or anymore jail time.              Kochanski leaving the Big red One just to dump Lister...sorry, I dont       buy that one...unless she ran off with Ace Rimmer in another dimension       (one of a handfull of possibilities). You know what I think...she is       still on Red Dwarf, she just wants a break from Listy, much to       what I'm sure is a state of bliss for kryten.              I loved the 'no money' part of episode 2 and the stuff about the       banks. I little REALITY tacked on there!              They DID NOT get back to Earth. Good. Time displacement equiptment and       a faster than light drive could still be the only true hope getting back       to Earth.                     Loved how the show was a sort of set up for a Blade Runner parody. One       of the greatest Si_Fi films ever made. The scripting of Back to Earth       was sharp and smart. I laughed my brains out when Listy started typing       and Rimsy started spazing out!              But, like series 7 and 8, I wanted more. But at least I'm not demanding       better...just MORE!              It was so entertaining, I didn't mind the inconsistancies...unlike Red       Dwarf 7 and 8.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
