d62f5b71       From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu       Copy: mxg77@cwru.edu              Well I guess there were in fact bedbugs after all. As for the rest,       that was an interesting installment - reminiscent of, for example,       4F18 (In Marge We Trust), with other bits of intrigue (the Homer/Ned       rivalry, itself reminiscent of previous episodes, and the brief       teaming-up of Bart and Ned). Overall I enjoyed it.              DYN:       ...Corporal Punishment is still around?       ...Moe is still a snake-handler?       ...the way Lisa phrases it, it sounds like the garbageman took the       dress *after* she talked to him?              Previous episode stuff       8F23: New couch (this time in the same style, though)       3F01: The way Bart is blamed for giving Milhouse bedbugs reminds me       that Milhouse gave Bart lice in a similar way (remember that wicker       basket from Pier 1?)       LABF05, PABF19: The Parson returns       FABF15: Pie Man costume       CABF03: Edward Norton guest voices again (not as the same character)       (this would add additional meaning to his mention of Fight Club too)              DORIS       HABF15, JABF02, KABF06, LABF08, MABF12, NABF11, NABF13, NABF15,       NABF16, PABF06, PABF15, PABF19, RABF03, RABF09, RABF10, RABF11       If you go in production order (CAN IT), that's three episodes in a row       now. Ugh. Couldn't help but notice that Tress's silly Manjula voice       showed up here too, though that's not quite the same situation.              Meta       -The line between the opening and the first act was quite blurred;       we've had some clouds-and-couch-only openings recently, but in this       case the couch gag seemed to be "real" and drove the action. (At the       same time it had a silly premise - the skydiving - and the typical       couch gag music. If I hadn't been keenly aware from promos that the       bedbugs came from a new couch, I would have been more surprised.)       -Helen: "Why won't someone blame the children?"       -In the dry cleaning are lots of Lisa's red dresses and "Sunday Best       Bart" suits (not the first time Sunday Best has been a joke); some       mileage also comes from Marge's canonical shotgun wedding dress       -Homer refers to his tendency to take new jobs easily, referring to       popular ones such as snow plow driver (9F07) and astronaut (1F13)       -Ned now has a whole history for the founder of Springfield's mashup       religion, Martin Presbyluther (first used as a joke in BABF22, though       Presbylutheran also sounded at the time like it could have been an       umbrella term)              By the way       For what it's worth, the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time would be in late       July.              Credits follies       No preview of next week's episode in the credits this time around (see       RABF07), though I was kinda worried when the credits showed up white       again. Why did they? Because Al Jean's credit showed up while action       was still onscreen?                            RABF05 (Hardly Kirking) airing #2       It was tonight at 7:00. The premiere was very short because the Maggie       short (The Longest Daycare) was airing between it and Bob's Burgers;       this time around, the only difference I could detect was that the       opening was full-length. And I do mean full-length. The components       that were already there (Lance in the clouds, the couch gag) remained;       but in addition we got       -Ralph: "aah!"       -billboard: Dr. Nick's valentine hearts       -blackboard: I will not tweet as the principal's toilet       -Barney: burp       -solo: tuba (haven't checked vs. other tuba solos)       -Otto: "mmm"       -Stu: "oop!"       -couch gag: long Game of Thrones one (PABF09), though I don't remember       offhand if it ended with the beheading knight the same way there (this       may be useful for Don's list if it *is* the same, so he can count them       properly)       The opening was 1:52 longer, which brought the episode time up to a       barely-squeaking-by 21:01 (with credits). So now you know.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
