   I'm not the one who takes this seriously.  That's the people who   
   continuously memorize production numbers, make silly lists of every time   
   Bart burps then call it a reference to a previous episode, keep making   
   references to curses because someone who once did a voice on the program   
   15 years ago died (like not all actors will die someday?), give the   
   series silly names like OFF, complain about how the series is no longer   
   any good (then why watch?) and complain if one little subplot reminds   
   them of something they did 20 years ago.   
      
   Those are the fanatics you're talking about.  All I am is a fan of the   
   Simpsons.  I watch the episodes.  Mostly once. I know there is a drop in   
   quality in any long-running series. I just don't whine about it. It's   
   still better than most animated comedy series and just about all live-   
   action ones. I watch the reruns rarely if at all. A normal fan.  Not a   
   fanatic.
