If you really didn't like it you wouldn't watch it (Masochistic
   tendencies?)
If you really didn't watch it you wouldn't know its contents (Psychic
   tendencies?)
If you didn't know its contents you wouldn't post your drivel in
newsgroups as if anyone cared what you think.

The important thing is not a comparison to past episodes but a
comparison to other so-called comedies (live action or animated). The
Simpsons still comes out near the top.

If you disagree, fine. Don't watch it.
But all these gripes about the quality compared to earlier episodes is
pointless and tiresome. Very few long-running series can maintain the
quality that the Simpsons has. Deal with it.
