From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              The Homer/Marge inadvertent spying thing was pretty interesting, more so       because it did it without any confrontation or argument. Liked the episode on       that alone and various gags throughout that plot. Valentine's Day cards plot =       eh. Football stuff at        start and end I could do without, though my tune will change if it actually       gets removed from repeats.              DYN:       ...the episode starts "one month earlier"? (Than the Super Bowl? That's not       early enough!)       ...Smithers wears an antler like the Grinch's Max?       ...the single establishing line of dialogue for Krustyburger is Squeaky-Voiced       Teen saying "I'm sorry, sir"?              Previous episode stuff       7F15: I know it was a parody of The Terminator then, but the way the "Oogle       Goggles" display information is reminiscent of the Termovision display (e.g.       "possible Homer sexual")       2F20 (etc.): Maggie is identified as an "attempted murderess"       not 9F13: Despite the goofy pun Bart points out on the Owls card, and the       Lisa/Ralph coda, there is no reference to "I Choo-Choo-Choose You" or their       card-trading past!              Meta       -after Lenny learns how to spell Simpson, Homer points out the cloud sequence       in the sky, so that's a thing       -"yoink" gets resurrected (by Marge)              Goof       For what it's worth, there's no space in Ga'Hoole. It's not Ga' Hoole.              Changed line       In a promo I saw earlier tonight, the scene where the Goggles/Glasses list       values for Flanders' house and the Simpsons' was a little simpler (listing       only prices - at first I wondered why it priced the Simpsons' window frame)       and gave the latter price at        about $50000.              Super Bowl       Now that's brand synergy Lindsay Naegle would be proud of. I guess since OFF       is not airing anything after the game next week, despite its being Fox's year,       they had to get all the nonsense in this time around, including an extensive       football-themed cloud/       couch gag and the Fox Sports/Football music over the second half of the       credits, neither for any good reason. The whole episode was preceded by an       animated introduction with the family, the football guys, and for some reason       Zooey Deschanel (who not only        keeps guest starring but also was animated in the Fox anniversary show, I       think), which doesn't seem to be actually part of it; whether any of the rest       will change in future airings remains to be seen.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
