   Notes for SABF12 (Luca$)

Liked the episode overall, mostly for the Homer/Lisa/Marge story - the way
Lisa likes boys like her dad, and the unexpected angle that Homer takes
offense to Marge's concern, plus the heaping helping of nervous date bits.
Bart and Snake was fine I guess.
Roadrunner/coyote bit seemed rather dark and out of place.

   DYN:
..."cuts of the potato" poster in lunchroom?
...there seems to be a deleted scene right after Lucas remarks about eating
pizza a slice at a time (his mouth doesn't stop moving)?
...Milhouse's foofy dog is noted again (after a very recent instance)?

   Previous episode stuff
AABF07: mischief on playground after getting drunk similar
   5F18: "cut me a switch"
KABF04: a little indirect, but Lucas's wailing of "brain freeze!" is
interesting in that it comes soon after his comparison to a young Homer
4F24 (among others?): fantasy of Lisa's adult life like her with Ralph
2F09: Milhouse has a revenge list (though it's much shorter than Homer's)
DABF06: Milhouse far too ready for swimming while visiting

?: Lisa mentions a moment where Maggie saved the power plant (without Mr.
Burns' knowledge); I am trying to remember, but did that actually happen, or
   is it a joke reference?

   Meta
-SABF12 is mug shot code on the back cover of the book at the start
-"Jailbird, AKA Snake" is said, and now he has a full name: Albert
   Knickerbocker Aloysius Snake

   Promotional consideration
I've gotten used to that phrase in credits of other shows (the economics of
television has changed), but is it a first on The Simpsons? I was wondering
about the random Project Runway namedrop and the fourth-wall-breaking
   "correction", but knowing there
was money involved only explains so much. Is there a joke here? Is it pure
   product placement?

   Fiddler on the Roof
Interesting coincidence of airdates: on Family Guy tonight ("Herpe, the Love
Sore" [sic]) there was a very similar joke of someone not really being excited
about seeing a character in a Fiddler production.

   Don alert
In case it matters, in the east, the whole Fox lineup was about a minute (or
two) late; at 7 there was a brief note about the delayed Nascar race (which
was to be this afternoon and had been only local programming since 6 or
earlier) and where to tune in
for it. This sort of thing happened a few weeks ago with no delay, possibly
because there was still network coverage during the delay and the note could
   be made at 6:59.
