From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Hmm. Interesting storyline and a not-too-frequent political/environmental       issue tackling, with another love story for Mr. Burns (not terribly       believable); Matt Selman's mark is all over the Homer and Marge angle and you       would think this and some shades        of "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" would all add up to a good episode, but while the       broad strokes were decent it was the little things that annoyed me. The black       mold hand, the sword cane silliness, wrecking ball/trap door, etc. and even a       bathroom suddenly        springing up in the mystery room (usually a closet) by the stairs (couldn't it       be where it usually is??). Also could no one turn OFF the water once it was on       fire?              DYN:       ...several redubbed lines (more than usual for these days)?       ...the fracking documentary Lisa brings up is 3 hours 12 minutes long (and to       judge from the way she was hunting for it does not count as a "sad" movie)?       ...Marjorie B. Simpson?       ...Homer's description of movies like The Purge (only one day a year where       murder is legal) seems to be in opposition to a normal state where it's legal       much more often?       ...Jane Fonda these days sounds a lot like Nana Visitor?              Previous episode stuff       9F18: Conspicuous "Fracking Day" banner may be meant to recall "Whacking Day"       Movie: Homer carried away by wrecking ball etc.              Meta, vaguely       Homer's (in)ability to tell Patty and Selma apart       Homer puts Mr. Burns' hands into an "excellent" tent himself              Dream sequence       Near the end of act 1 Mr. Burns and this Maxine lady are spoofing something; I       think it might be one of the weird sequences in Singin' in the Rain, but I       can't be sure. Any better guesses?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
