From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Kinda OK, as far as the prank war/difficulty with the new teacher (felt a       little more classic), and the Burning Man/Blazing Guy setting allowed for a       freeform gag fest (although a little too free and not like the people who       don't care what you think need        to be taken down a peg). A little too out-there, though, with some gags that       really failed to land or seemed in poor taste, and I must note, extremely       short.                     DYN:       ...Kang and Kodos "missed Halloween" (I didn't specifically note whether they       appeared in Treehouse of Horror XXV (SABF21), but just now I saw the opening       seems to contain only their voices, so maybe there's something to it)?       ...the calendar in Bart's room has not only a 23/30 square but a 22/29 (which       is never needed if the calendar has the usual 5 rows)?       ...everyone lines up for the "public phone" - including Bart - though Homer's       cell phone seems to work just fine (maybe everyone else is conscientiously       leaving that behind)?       ...no one put Marge in the car to go home while she was hallucinating?       ...these prisoners control their own lights?              Previous episode stuff       KABF11: Chalmskinn       7F76 (Deep Deep Trouble video): Bart's new haircut and the disciplinary nature       of it quite similar       SABF16 (just last week): "X IS A WIENER" graffiti (both probably references to       the "I AM A WEINER" bit in 7G02)       BABF11: Marge's pupil dilation a lot like the frog licking type       3F24: Homer's Coyote makes a cameo in Marge's hallucination              Meta       -Chalmers says every principal's name with the angry "Skin-NER!" tone       -Bart's lucky red hat (still rare these days) makes an extended appearance       covering his stupid haircut       -Bart's Homer haircut, Milhouse's resemblance to his mom (that he doesn't       mention his dad is half the joke, one assumes)              David Silverman is credited in the guest stars. I wonder what he contributed;       perhaps there was a festivalgoer who looked just like him (tuba guy?), or       maybe it wasn't that simple.              Lisa's sax solos       Following MABF05 and PABF13 at least, this episode contains at least part of       one of Lisa's opening sax riffs in the episode itself (when Lisa joins the       drum circle), I think #14 on the Simpsons Archive list.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
