Well, this started with an interesting premise (Bart and the mysterious
bulldozer prank) and had some shades of episodes like Marge Be Not Proud
(3F07) and Bart the Mother (5F22), but then in act 3 it all just kinda fell
   apart, especially when we found
out he *did* really do it and (worse) things stopped making any kind of sense
at all. I have no idea what's going on. I also don't know why he had to commit
any sort of prank at all following his change of heart. The dog subplot was
   tiny but actually
better, though I also have to confess I expected it to integrate with the main
plot (the new dog uncovers some evidence to clear Bart maybe). So, eh.

   DYN:
...the family eats dinner in the kitchen in act 1 for some reason, and in act
2 their positions at the dining room table are all 180 degrees around from
   usual?
...Maggie has a bar of the longtime classic "Ah, Fudge!"?
...Quimby notes Springfield got the sign letter-by-letter from *other* failed
towns (implying he knows Springfield is a dump)?

   Previous episode stuff
9F04: King Homer and Marge in clouds in opening
7F24, 8F06: Minor, but Lisa's grumbles about being the middle child and
Homer's offer of ice cream bring to mind specific memorable moments from these
   two episodes

   Meta
Marge says D'oh and later tries to do the "why you little..."+strangle.
Bart skates through the town at night in a parody of one of his sections from
the (newer) opening sequence (with a weird version of the Simpsons theme); the
staging is apparently a common procedure with the townsfolk, too.

Repeat of TABF10 (Waiting for Duffman)
This episode reaired tonight and predictably the 15-second dedication to Sam
Simon is gone. However, it's not just that: the original had silent execs
before the dedication and regular credits afterward, but this, presumably the
   "definitive" version, has
alternate music (from the Duffman contest?) throughout, including execs, and a
special Gracie ("oh yeah!" replacing the "shh!"). Great. Sam Simon still
appears as an executive producer (and, of course, show developer) in the
   repeat and in TABF11 tonight;
my guess is he appears as an exec until the end of the air or production
   season.

   And also
What is Al Jean smoking? The DVD (especially TV on DVD) market is not dying by
a long shot. Jeez. I hope this prediction of no more DVD sets gets reversed.
