When I first saw that Simpson's episode I asked my grandmother (who could not   
   stand and thus did not watch the Simpson's) if she knew who Rory Calhoun was.   
   When she said she did, I asked if he was known for anything in particular.    
   Her answer: "Just    
   standing around I guess. " She couldn't really back that up with any sort of   
   detail though.   
   Lucky coincidence maybe? Still looking.
