From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Unusual episode - refreshing in its focus (on Patty and Selma and on Maggie)       but still a little oddly done here and there. Though there were shades of some       other Maggie adventures (especially the Great Escape parody in 8F18), this       struck me as a little        more like something that was meant to be a theatrical short in the style of       the day care one. The Patty and Selma story was fine, though clearly not very       substantial, and I wasn't nuts about the reset button at the end; also among a       few iffy gags        scattered throughout, I could have really done without the multiple bleach       bits. Also I'm not sure why 80 is portrayed as a very-rarely-hit age.                     DYN:       ...Duffman's parrot is named Hoppy (an odd name for a bird until you consider       he promotes beer, which is some sort of ancient hop-grain juice)?       ...the long line Selma says to Otto at the DMV seems to be a last minute       change?       ...Lisa's "you'll learn to do things after you're a baby" is very odd phrasing?              Previous episode stuff       9F14: Title       1F21: Fairly unexplained callback to Monty and Abe's wooing of Jackie       LABF04: That episode was named for Gone Baby Gone, which was used (with no       parody) for a chapter name here       MG42/MG43: "Possum in Peril" chapter name in Maggie's story, if not a direct       reference to "Maggie in Peril", is still a little amusing              Meta       -Lisa comments that she is already dressed up, i.e. her outfit is a dress and       pearls and she's only a girl       -Homer says Patty can't sleep on the couch because "that's where we do our       couch gags", and we see the crushed cars from this episode's own couch gag       -The LONG subtitle in Maggie's speech, which is gone in an instant, ends with       "If you've read all this, congratulations, you're a genius!"
