From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Eh. OK premise with the homeless lady and her folk music, but somewhat spoiled       by bad pacing and writing (somewhat like Lisa with an S, which reran       tonight!). Homer's subplot is also OK but a little broad. Episode still super       short. I liked the wetnap        joke though. And at least the sign at the start of the credits properly       punctuates 'n'.              DYN:       ...the couch gag is football-themed even though the season ended 2 weeks ago       (maybe this was expected to run before then)?       ...Lisa seems to file her records sideways?       ...Lisa also pronounces vestigial more like "vestigal"?       ...Lisa's computer background (or something) features Bleeding Gums Murphy,       appropriately for the episode, but she never calls attention to it (this is       nice)?       ...there are no music credits for the various original(?) songs?              Previous episode stuff       4F18: Mr. Sparkle box in clouds in opening       9F21: Mr. Largo has a poster encouraging students feeling "flat" to "be sharp"       (though that's not really a useful term, since B# is just C)              Goofs or whatever       The waveform of Hettie's music on a computer never matches what's playing;       this usually happens even these days and I don't know why it's so hard to just       get right.       The gray walls of the basement probably shouldn't have a studs-and-empty-space       passageway behind them.       Bart's "I was right" sign in the radio studio is addressed to... whom? Lisa's       right there and can't see it. Is it to us?              Various meta or whatever       Hettie is seen in one of Lisa's many red dresses.       Lisa plays sax at the concert, including her own solo #11 (on the SNPP list).       Hettie asks Lisa what time they "do couch gags" (11 am).       A handful of things are mentioned in the credits song, including the corncob       curtains, sailboat picture, Marge's tall hair, and the fact that the baby       doesn't talk and no one wonders why (even though she is 1).              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
