From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Uhh, both the premise and execution of this episode were a mixed bag for me. I       enjoyed the digs at the Christian movie industry (and the overall moviemaking       process gags to a point) and Bart's crisis of conscience courtesy of Lisa, but       the dare elements        and some other stuff weren't great. The celebrity casting doesn't make any       sense (at least with Mickey Rooney it was clearly absurd). Super duper       ridiculously short (20 minutes, 20:48 with credits). Welcome to season 30.              Also, thanks to the Browns game running extremely long (well past its nominal       7:00 end time, into an overtime that began at 7:47), in Cleveland and other       areas with this game, the 7:00 and 7:30 Simpsons/Bob's Burgers repeats       scheduled didn't run at all,        and tonight's new episode began at 8:16 Eastern.                     DYN/goof?:       ...Marge's dad is shown without blue hair (and without a right leg)? (Compare       2F08.)              Goof:       The second set of "credits" at the end of act 3 has only one S in the last       word of "Springfield Film Commision"; I wouldn't be surprised if this got       corrected for repeats (see below).                     Miscellaneous summer repeat alteration notes              1. The second airing of XABF11 (Lisa Gets the Blues) on 6/17 (a night which,       by the way, had a delay of about 3 minutes on all episodes here) actually       retained the dedication for R. Lee Ermey! It's possible that the credits were       a second shorter, but I        haven't determined that for sure.              2. The second airing of XABF04 (Frink Gets Testy) on 7/8 actually added a       dedication! Harlan Ellison died 6/28, and before the Gracie logo is a       dedication to him, with a still from SABF03. It'll be interesting to see if       this reappears in further airings.              3. The second airing of XABF05 (Homer Is Where the Art Isn't) on 7/15 left out       the dedication to Stephen Hawking; no surprise there.              4. The second airing of XABF12 (Left Behind) on 8/18 corrected the spelling of       "sexual harassment" on Homer's blackboard (the original airing spelled it with       two Rs, "harrassment".              5. The third airing of WABF17 (The Serfsons) on 8/26 included the Gracie logo       that was missing from the first (I managed to miss the second and wasn't sure       if it was reinstated then).              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
