   And researchers are trying to produce holographic movies, inspired by   
   Princess Leia. No word on actual holodecks, although it's only a   
   matter of time.   
      
   These aren't so much predictions as inspirations: kids saw the shows   
   and succeeded in making their dreams real.   
      
   IIRC, Arthur C Clarke predicted/inspired communications satellites,   
   just by writing books and short stories.   
      
   This is next cousin to "self-fulfilling prophecy".   
      
   And, if #1 actually /inspired/ The Donald to run for President, the   
   people producing it have a /lot/ to answer for!
