|    Notes for ZABF09 (Screenless) (and ZABF0    |

From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              The only excuse I can imagine is that the writers were also trying to minimize       screen time and only wrote one draft. What a mess. Every premise imaginable       seemed to be wrong. And what was the point, exactly? Well, here are three       things I liked: the sound        effects CD (I've been known to collect some), garden/danger (which I just       realized might employ Homer's newfound jumble skill, but maybe that's giving       it too much credit), and "talc is cheap". The rest... well...              DYN:       ...no one seems to know it's Daylight Saving Time, not "Savings"?       ...this old portable (analog) TV still gets a signal?       ...Homer's first Jumble doesn't work at all right (the individual words       shouldn't make a sentence, and I can't imagine multiple solutions would be       permitted [DDA = ADD, in addition to DAD, for example, if DAD is even legal]),       but the second seems more in        the usual style?       ...Selma is smoking (compare the Disney gag in ZABF07)?       ...ex-Simpsons writer Dana Gould lends his voice again?              Previous episode stuff       9F14, TABF19: Another entry in the "-less" episode title pattern       GABF02: Jammitin logos cover an entire monitor in the rehab computer room              Meta       Maggie complains that she "was America's baby once" (in reference to The       Mandalorian).       Marge tells us, the viewers, to stop using our screens too, just before a cut       to commercial.              The next clip emanates from the ceiling       Dedications are back (I still can't believe Kirk Douglas got nothing)...       tonight, before the Gracie logo, a nod to James Lipton (DABF14, NABF05) with       what might be a publicity image as opposed to an episode still. Don't expect       to see that next time.              Vroom vroom       Cars driving around in circles took a little extra time to drive around in       circles today. In my area, the 7:00 repeat of ZABF06 (The Miseducation of Lisa       Simpson) was joined in progress at 7:24 with the usual abbreviated NABF21       intro, then only a little        over a minute of act 3, more ads, and the end. I don't know why they didn't       just claim the entire half hour at that point. But now you know.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
