From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              Oh, I just don't care. This was not a good setting to transplant the       characters into, and whatever interest I had last week just did not get       sustained. Also, did it even happen in the series continuity? My guess is no.       Same rare viewer discretion warning        beforehand, etc.              DYN:       ...you're apparently allowed to use the name Boy Scouts now?              Previous episode stuff       3F16: Is Chester J. Lampwick in the gun-wielding motel parking lot crowd in       the 70s?       ZABF22: Marge says Homer better not be a sports podcaster (while wondering       what he's hiding in WY)              Previously on Simpflix       The 7:30 rerun of QABF21 (which did start on time here, after football ran       exactly 30 minutes over) was mostly the same as the original, except for two       things:       1. the corner popup on the executive producers saying next episode in 6 days,       23 hours, etc. was gone       2. most of the end credits were shoved into a tiny window while a promo for       part 2 ran!       Now, this is probably still preferable to a special hour-long airing with       combined credits and no linking material, but annoying anyway. It's true that       Fox's current format puts a minute or so of ads between shows at the top of       the hour (not at the        bottom), so someone casually watching and being completely unaware of       tonight's schedule might not realize the story would be continued moments       later, but on the other hand, after these credits, a separate promo for the       new episode ran anyway! I also        wonder if this, like last week's gag, was meant to imitate Netflix's style of       squishing credits while promoting other content, yet it didn't seem to have       the right feel, so I'm not sure who decided to make it like this.       Anyway, what happens for future reruns (of both parts!), syndication,       on-demand, and (MAYBE) home video manifestations remains to be seen. Yeesh.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
