From: mxg77@po.cwru.edu              I'm a little torn, because the subject matter in the second half (about the       disappearance of the middle class, etc.) was true and important and worth       getting out... but it also left very little actual plot to the episode, the       music was scattershot, and        it just became overt, preachy, and unfunny. One might argue that that's the       point, what's happening is not funny and we're out of time to couch it in       subversive satire... it might not have to be so blunt though. Robert Reich is       a nice "get" at least (       even if I think the lyrics were written with a mispronunciation of his name in       mind). Well, that's season 33 in the can.              Megan Mullally is back as Sarah Wiggum (see QABF10 last year) and she's fine,       but I still don't know why the classic Pamela Hayden voice couldn't persist.              DYN:       ...another TV-14-DLSV (the whole schmear), probably for the adult-oriented       British show at the start?       ...SNPP still uses paper paychecks in large quantities?       ...Lisa's rap has Beethoven's 7th in the background?       ...the credits cut to black/theme with just one cast screen to go (could've       been tidier)?              Meta       Bart has a hair gel called "Who the Gel are You?" (compare his ancient catch       phrase)       Lisa ends act 2 by saying Bart can't even afford what they sell in this       commercial              A reminder       There are only two calendar dates on which Fox has never aired a Simpsons       episode (new or rerun): February 29, understandably, and May 29. Next week       will be the 4th time in 33 seasons that May 29 is on the show's typical day of       the week, and unless        something crazy happens, Fox will be airing the Coca-Cola 600 race - the same       event that preempted the show each previous time. Will those dates ever get an       episode?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
