   I was thinking of that exact scene, as it happens, because of how hard it is   
   to express in natural-sounding English the meaning of the wrong grammatical   
   forms without just sounding normal. (Compare the stilted "people called   
   Romanes, they go, the house"    
   to the simplest translation.)
