   I rewatched this episode today and something hit me. When Krusty is seen in   
   some sort of European village getting plastic surgery to hide from the mob,   
   the setting and basic premise may be a nod to an episode of The Prisoner, "Do   
   Not Forsake Me Oh My    
   Darling" (involving an elaborate body swap and a surgeon who's hidden himself   
   away in the town), on top of the better-known Batman and Twilight Zone   
   references in the scene. In fact, I'm having a hard time imagining any other   
   reason for the establishing    
   shot unless that TZ goes outside the US. In The Prisoner I think the town is   
   supposed to be in Austria, though Krusty's surgeon has a French (ish)   
   inscription on the door and people have put it in Switzerland. There are   
   similar shots of the town in The    
   Prisoner although I haven't spotted one that seems to be a precise model for   
   2F12's.
