   I wouldn't be so quick to make such a remark. There's always a good plane   
   crash on National Geographic, Green Acres on Fox Classics, Red Dwarf on UK   
   TV, and South Park amongst the shit on Comedy Channel of course. At those   
   too frequent times when the TV guide draws a complete blank, though, Animal   
   Planet's usually interesting. Having said that, I generally turn the TV off   
   once the situation becomes critical.

   I do but I generally don't. I just bought a music DVD from the US on eBay   
   though. Thankfully dedicated-region players were outlawed in Australia in   
   2001 or thereabouts (thank you Prof Allan Fels, who committed this kind act   
   just before he retired from the Australian Competition and Consumer   
   Commission). As far as I know, most if not all players have hidden menus to   
   select regions anyway, no matter where you happen to live.
