   I disagree. Both McCain and Obama ran on a platform of "change". The   
   episode would have still worked with the same characters celebrating a   
   McCain victory instead of an Obama victory, and with the Obama   
   supporters hanging themselves in despair instead of the McCain   
   supporters. I can envision it pretty easily.   
      
   I think it's very possible that an alternate version of this episode   
   was shot, with McCain as the winner. Of course, I could be wrong. If   
   this episode was actually thrown together the last minute, then it is   
   an incredible achievement.   
      
   One particularly amazing thing is the reference to the death of   
   Obama's grandmother. That just happened Monday, TWO DAYS before the   
   episode aired! And the referenced was worked into the plot logically;   
   it did not appear to have been shoehorned in gratuitously (even if it   
   was).
