   Obviously you're only prohibited from saying the name when referring to   
   the prophet Muhammed, not when saying the name of other people with the   
   name.  Similarly, Christianity prohibits taking Jesus's name in vain,   
   but it's still common in the Hispanic community to name boys after him.   
      
   Christians don't threaten violence to offenders of this commandment.   
   And it's mostly invoked for the name God, not as much for Jesus; many TV   
   networks will bleep out God in "God damn it".
