Women of other races are simply called women, but since       slaves were livestock, they were sorted like any other farm creatures.              At least that's what my elders told me, and since my 94 y/o Grandma's       dad was born only slightly after the Proclamation, making her       grandparents slaves, I tend to believe her, no matter what the books       say.
