   A couple of weeks ago, one of the local T.V. channels replayed the JJ   
   Abrams Startrek movie and I finally got around to watching it today.   
   Early on, James Kirk is in a bar and comes across Uhara. A brawl breaks   
   out and the bar is cleared by Capt Christopher Pike.   
      
   The next day, James Kirk shows up at the Starfleet Base where the new   
   recruits are leaving to start they training at Starfleet Academy. As the   
   various craft take off, laden with the new recruits, there is a Starship   
   being constructed and, using slow-mo in the DVD player, I was able to   
   make out that it's registration number was NCC-1701, i.e. The Enterprise.   
      
   I thought The Enterprise, NCC-1701, was built at a Jupiter (or some   
   such) yards, but in researching for this post, I now know that it was   
   built at the San Fransuco yards of Starfleet so I can, now, handle that   
   it was built on Earth, however ......   
      
   In the TOS timeline, The Enterprise was under the command of command of   
   Robert April from 2245 and then under the command of the afore mentioned   
   Capt Christopher Pike from 2250

   In the new timeline, if the Enterprise is being built when Kirk enters   
   Starfleet Academy, and he completes the course in three years and then   
   becomes crew on the Enterprise under Pike upon 'graduation' from   
   Starfleet Academy, what sort of date are we looking at the JJ Abrams   
   Star Trek film supposedly happening in??
