   I wonder how they're going to explain the Doctor being noticeably   
   older-looking than he was programmed to be?   
      
   Holograms don't age but if the Doctor is re-programming himself to appear to   
   age so that he blends in with everyone around him, then 800 years later, he   
   should look like King Theoden after Saruman had possessed him.
