This is a work of Fan Fiction.

This will be last posting for a while as I wish not to leave a project
   uncompleted.

Some Libertarian and Freedom Views May Offend Some Readers.

However, it is important to take this time to evaluate who we were, who we
are, and where do we wish to go.

Mulder remembers the day of 9/11/2001 as he was still active with the FBI
x-files group before he was reassigned in Spring 2002. That day he remembers a
story he overhead someone retell of a former responder:

"On that day, a mother and son went to breakfast. They went to McDonalds that
they went to meet with friends, and it was the McD that the three of them went
to, when his father was alive.

On the drive there, the son turned on the car radio, and listened to music.
They arrived at McD's and had breakfast. Some friends can to talk, and they
had a light conversation. It was about what in the paper that day. They talked
   about articles in the
Chicago tribune and the USA today. (It is odd that nothing was said about what
   happened early that morning.)

After breakfast, they went to the grocery store and picked up groceries for
the week. Upon arriving home, the son turned on the TV so his mother could
watch her favorite soap opera. However, when the son turned on the channel,
all he saw was pictures of
destruction, dust, and no commentary just silence, it was some huge city. He
checked other channels and saw the same thing. At that point, he called his
sister and asked what had happened "had an atomic bomb been exploded?" he
   asked his sister. His
sister replied that New York and the Pentagon had been attacked by terrorist
using planes and that the world trade center was destroyed with many people
   killed.

It shook the son and mother as his mother had thoughts of Pearl Harbor as she
told he son where she was when Pearl Harbor was attacked. She and her mother
and brother were driving with her father to her grandmother's house, the
   father had the car radio
on in his car, and they heard the radio report, and the son's mother
remembered her father saying "Lucile, this is going to mean war."

   "

Mulder also started to remember about the attitudes and culture at that time.
It was still the dot-com revolution, and no one knew that it would come to a
crashing end. In fact, the stock market dow jones industrial average was at
   12,500 and Nasdaq at 4,
   000. Today, we have still to reach that point after five years.

Also, Mulder remember how people were more supportive of all ideas, and did
not label them as "mindless drivel" or "spam" if did not completely please
them. It is interesting how much the new generation of internet of users have
   forgot the fights the
older generation of internet users had to go to keep Gingritch and others from
banning things as international email or posting (they originally wanted to
have only in state posting, not national or international posting), the fight
   to make the internet
public and keep it open, and the fight to free speech and freedom of
expression on the internet. (It is interesting that most people do not realize
that the internet came online in 1969 and the first alt groups like alt.sex
   formed shortly afterwards as
Mulder remembers the history of the internet. Still, he can understand the
reason because some students today are so poor in history or have such a
limited memory span of history, they think that the Declaration of
Independence was signed in 1982 as
opposed to 1776. along with other errors in historical reasoning. Credit to
the Church of the Poor School System).

While Mulder was having these remembrances, he was in a coffee shoppe that
supported progressive policies of providing a salary higher than minimum wage
to its workers, profit sharing to all workers, health insurance to all workers
   - even those who did
not work a 40 hour work week or less than a 40 hour work week, and health
benefits to relationship partners (traditional and non traditional). So, he
did not worry about paying 3.50 for a cup of café and coca. It was an American
   idea make possible by a
   still creative and open American.

He wished more people still retained that attitude, rather than the hurtful
attitude he saw in some in regards to peoples posting, and the belief it is ok
to have big brother attitude to spy on everyone. He wondered, what happened to
   these people. People
cannot be creative if they are fearful or expressive if they are watched too
   closely.

We have to balance security and not sacrifice Freedom. However, Mulder is
wondering if we have reduced our freedom for a false security with long term
implications that could change the Freedom's path the grew the United States
   in the First Place.

"Mulder, wake up, are you ok," asked Scully waking Mulder ..
