The night before the raid on the Al-Qaeda cell in Long Beach.
Condor had found someone who he did not think to find in L.A. It was a friend
and informer to Mulder, David. David is originally from Wisconsin, the cities
of Wauwatosa and Kenosha (currently). He had helped the with Emergency
Management and Planning in
1990's until asked to leave, and continued to help as a consultant.
"David, what are you doing in L.A?," asked Condor.
"Well, I was attending an SCS conference in San Diego, and received messages
from Belinda and Mulder to see them. It was something where they wanted me to
analyze the movements and predict movements of someone.."
This has been the first time that David has left Wisconsin since his father
passed on 2 days before thanksgiving in 2000. The period of 2000 - 2001 was a
tough period for him as he took responsibility to take care of his mother who
was disabled and
himself trying to cope without a father. David is now 44, and yet there are
times especially since this coming date that he wishes he talk to his father,
even if in spirit form, because even though, he is 44, it is a different life
to live knowing that a
father is gone who he used to share evening / night time conservations on the
back deck while watching the star. The technology does not make up for the
loss of a father, even having a state of the art of the computer. David was
much happier with his
Osborne 1 computer and showing his father what he had done and having his
father period rather with a dual core centrino computer, it does not make up
for the lack of a father.
Condor and David started to talk about 9/11/2001, and how the people who lost
loved ones and those who lost parents must feel. David and Condor do know
exactly how they feel, but David can understand what it is like not to have a
parent with you, and how
you still miss a parent, a father, five years later. Usually, someone will
lose a parent when they are in their mid 50's and early 60's, but to lose a
parent in your late 30's or earlier is hard on anyone, as there are questions
that you have as you get
older and move from your 20's to your 30's to 40's and it helps to have a
father help you learn how to live in each of those periods of your life.
"David, how are you feeling," asked Condor.
"Well, this period has made me think of him, and wish I could talk with him
again," said David.
Condor realized that the loss of his father in 2000 still affected him even
though he has doctors helping him through this. Also, David shared with him on
some days that when the memories became too hard, it would cause a deep
depression that would
prevent him from getting up early in the morning and causing him to wake up to
2 p.m. in the afternoon, to get the courage to wake up.
Condor thought about whether the family members of those who lost parents have
felt that type of depression, and whether they still do. People sometimes do
not realize how important a parent is once they become an adult, until they
pass, and you cannot
talk with them directly until you meet them in heaven..
