From: colbysgurl@shaw.ca              Authors: Jacquie and Sassy                            Category: MSR Romance                            Summary: A post episode fiction for "The Unnatural"                            Rating: I guess M                                          Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx                                          Mulder whispered softly in Scully's ear as she finally stopped swinging the       bat. "So did I do good?"              Scully bit her lip against the first response to that question. Instead, she       quirked an eyebrow. "Do good at what?" She hoped he didn't feel the shiver       that went through her with him being so close.              "Come on, Scully..." Mulder laughed softly. "Your present."              Scully wrinkled her nose teasingly. "Well, G-Man, I did have my heart set on       those new pumps." She couldn't resist grinning at him.              "Ha! Ha!" Mulder teased. He smiled at her again. "Come on. One more swing."              Scully didn't want to lose contact...not just yet. So she wasn't about to       protest or argue with Muller's suggestion.              "One more swing.."              "Alright, poor boy. Let her fly!" Mulder instructed the kid at the ball       machine.              Scully found it difficult not to think about where Mulder's hands were. He       heard the ball come out of the machine and helped her to swing hard. They       both missed and somehow ended up on the ground. Scully was straddling him.       Mulder chuckled.              "Well. If that's what you want for your birthday, all you had to do was       ask."              "God..." Scully scrambled off Mulder, blushing furiously.              Mulder grabbed her hips to keep her still. "Hey..." He tucked a strand of       hair behind her ears. "It's okay."              Still embarrassed, Scully buried her face in his chest. She found herself       inhaling his scent. She closed her eyes. A soft sigh escaped her lips.              Mulder lifted her chin. "You want to go back to my place?"              But that means leaving your arms..."Sure," Scully said softly.              "I got beer...we can order pizza...watch a little space invasion movie..."       Perfect night Mulder thought And you'll be with me.              "Yeah, that's romantic," Scully blurted. She tried to backpedal, but Mulder       wouldn't let her. Before she knew it, she was back in his arms again.              Mulder nuzzled her neck softly and asked, "You want romance, Miss Scully?"              Scully's body relaxed against his. "I just want to be with you," she told       him.              Mulder helped her stand and dusted them both off. "I just have to pay him.       Then we'll be on our way. Okay?"              "Okay." Scully watched Mulder walk away. Great. Now you have him running       scared. After a moment of looking up at the sky, she joined him again.              Mulder slipped his hand into hers and then moved them toward the gate and       his car. "We can come back for your car...in the morning."              Scully felt a hard lump at the meaning behind Mulder's words...but then she       realized that she wanted to be with him all night...then she wished it was       longer than just all night. She looked down at their entwined fingers, then       smiled up at him.              Mulder knew in that moment that he hadn't overstepped and that she wanted       this as much as he did. "Do you need anything?"              "Nothing much... just a change of clothes and my toothbrush. Five minutes,"       Scully promised. She reached up to touch his cheek.              "You have a change of clothes at my place...and we can get you a new       toothbrush." He wanted to feel her close to him.              Scully had forgotten about the clothes she had left at his apartment.       "Always one step ahead of me," she said softly.              Mulder shook his head. "Not usually." He opened the passenger side door. He       kissed her cheek.              Scully's hand reached over to take Mulder's hand, waiting to see if he would       hold it. He squeezed her fingers and said softly, "I'll just stop right up       here..at the Qwikey Mart. Get you a toothbrush."              "If you wanted we could get a six pack of iced tea."              Mulder shook his head. "Have that at home too."              "You came prepared, didn't you?" Scully teased.              Mulder smiled over at her. "Maybe.."              They made their stop and then headed to Mulder's apartment. He opened the       door for her. "Make yourself at home."              Scully sank into his couch. Then she patted the sea beside her. "Come on,       G-Man, take a load off."              Mulder shook his head. "Stop calling me that." He sat down beside her and       slipped his arms around her shoulders. He pulled her close and kissed her       temple.              Scully snuggled into his chest again, closing her eyes with a sigh. "Would       you hold it against me if I said I don't want to leave?" she whispered.              "Not in this lifetime. Not in any lifetime." Mulder kissed her forehead and       closed his eyes. "Would you hold it against me...for wanting you to never       leave?"              "I'd say we were on the same line of thought...that we should be picking out       China patterns."              "We should..." Mulder looked over at her. "We've known each other for a long       time."              Scully smiled encouragingly. "You mean get married?" she asked softly,       hoping the question wouldn't be pushing it.              Mulder smirked. "When we're ready I mean."              Scully's face fell. "Right."              "How's tomorrow?" He closed his eyes and swallowed hard before looking over       at her.              Mulder.." Scully whispered. She struggled to find her voice. "Are you sure?"              Mulder nodded. "If you don't want..."              "Mulder, I'd marry you today..." Scully started softly, reaching out for his       arm. Her hand trailed up to his face. "But if you feel uncomfortable with       the whole idea, I'm not going anywhere. I'll wait till you're ready."              Mulder shook his head. "I suggested it, didn't I?"              "You did," Scully said softly. "I just don't want to make you do something       you don't want to."              Mulder moved onto his knees between her legs. "You aren't making me do       anything."              "Mulder get back up here." Scully took him by the hand and pulled him back       onto the couch.              "I've just. I've waited too long to be like this." Mulder took his face in       her hands. "I love you, Scully...Dana."              "I know. I love you too," she whispered.              Mulder kissed her mouth gently. She tasted so sweet. Scully whimpered softly       as her hands went to his hair. Slowly at first she eased her tongue into his       mouth.              Feeling Mulder shiver, she soothed him with her hands. "I know. It's okay."              He kissed her again. "We could move to the bedroom."              "Only if you want to," Scully whispered before finding herself being lifted       into Mulder's arms.                                          [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]                                                                                                   |
