From: fallonrose@gmail.com              Rated R              sugarbullet@mail.com              (revival spoilers)                            Fox Mulder was standing with his partner--and former lover to boot, in the       middle of a field surrounded by mist and sunsets. At one time, it would have       been a place that he loved to take her, yet now it was almost a mockery.              He walked over to her, closer to where she stood, and brushed a strand of the       now strawberry-blonde hair away from her face. How she had changed.              "So, Scully, you...uh...you went out with that guy?"              She quipped a smile. "You brought me to a place like this to talk about       something like that?"               "Well, no. But I want you to be honest with me. I want you to trust me."              "I do. Always."              "Was it....serious?" he asked.              "No," she replied, the gentle breeze of the wind settling so that her hair       brushed her face, almost in tandem with the way he had.              "Did you sleep with him," he asked her.              "Just once. I felt like I had to for some reason. So I drank a little too       much. It was awkward and awful. I cried all night and must have scrubbed my       skin a hundred times over by morning and then I called him and broke it off."              She thought Mulder would hate her for sure now, but he just looked at her       sadly and kissed her forehead. "It's okay," he said.              "Can you live with that...live with me in your life...after that?"              He paused for a minute. "You're asking for forgiveness?"              She nodded.              "But, why? You don't need to be forgiven. I'm just glad you were honest with       me."              He pulled her closer to him. She looked up. "I just...wish I had never left."               "Well," he began, "We all leave once in awhile. In one way or another."              "We shouldn't."              " I guess not. Hey, um....do you want to have dinner...with me, in whatever       capacity you see fit?"       "Sure. Fine. Whatever." She said, making them both laugh. Neither was willing       to part with the beauty of the sunset right away, so they waited it out, as       hungry as they were.               They ended up going to TGI Friday's because Scully insisted that he not spend       too much money on her. After all, he hadn't had a real source of income again       until recently. They were still wearing their work clothes, and when the       waitress came to take        their order, she furrowed her brow and asked if they were in a business       meeting.               They both ordered Shrimp Scampi because there was something to celebrate, even       if they didn't know what. 'Chasing monsters in the dark sure makes one       hungry', they both thought as they watched the other eat way more than usual.              When they were both done, Dana reached her hand across the table, holding on       to the person she loved more than any other. She was both surprised and       unsurprised that he took her hand in return.              "What are you thinking about?" he asked her.              "Oh, nothing much. Just how much I missed you; how glad I am to see you again."              "Me too," he said.              She drank her last sip of iced tea, thinking of a time many years ago when       that very beverage almost brought him to profess his love for her a few years       too soon.              He insisted on paying and he drove her to her new apartment. While she stood       there in the doorway, his face lingered just above hers, before she finally       played the wild card and kissed him.               It was supposed to be a good night kiss, but it turned into much more, too       soon. Within less minutes than they could count on one hand, he had her tipped       backward over her bed and they fought to see whose shirt could be unbuttoned       first.               "It's not too soon?" he asked and she shook her head no.              They removed the rest of their clothing and were joined without much foreplay.       As they moved in sync, he held her face in his hands and thanked her for being       honest, for trusting him, for loving him when no one else would.               They chased each other into oblivion and woke up on cloud nine, only still       tearstained and unsure of their future together, as they had been so many       times before.               --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
