From: eblair@sonic.net              TITLE: You're Alive       AUTHOR: Erin M. Blair       E-MAIL: eblair@sonic.net       CLASSIFICATION: VRA--Vignette, Romance, Angst.       CONTENT: Mulder/Scully Romance.       RATING: PG       DISTRIBUTION: OK to Gossamer, Ephemeral,       After the Fact, MSR Fanfic Cheerleader Archive.       SPOILERS: Redux II       SETTING: Season Five.       DISCLAIMER: Mulder and Scully belong to Chris       Carter.       FEEDBACK: Yes, please.       ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Thanks to Jen for beta reading       this story for me.       SUMMARY: Mulder reflects about Scully's remission       from cancer.                     ------------------------------------------       You're Alive       Written by: Erin M. Blair       ------------------------------------------              Before Skinner led me away, I saw how pale       your beautiful porcelain skin was. The only       color you had was your red hair flowing       down over the pillow. You were dying, Scully,       and they wanted to take me away from you.              You could have been dead, Scully. I would never       have forgiven myself for not holding you in your       last hours. I promised that we would always be       together, no matter what happens. I'll never       break my promise to you.              No matter what.              If you were dead, my heart would be broken into       bits and pieces. No one would have picked up       the pieces. I would have killed myself with my       own gun. I couldn't fathom being without you. I       don't want to try and find out.              I'm thankful that I found your cure. I know we       never knew what cured you. We have our       different views on it, but I'm grateful to       whoever or whatever power that made       you well.              You're alive, Scully; I'm alive, too.              ~~ the end ~~              Author's Notes:              I enjoyed writing "Praying for Health" so much       that I wanted to write a follow up using Mulder's       POV. I loved the episode, "Redux II," so much       because I understood what Mulder and Scully       went through. Cancer affects the whole family,       not just the woman (or man) suffering from the       disease. I wanted to try to convey the pain, the       fear, and the hope Mulder had for Scully's       remission.              I hope that I succeeded.              I would like to thank my readers for their       feedback and for encouraging me over the years.       Most of all, I would like to thank my beta reader,       Jen, for helping me with this story. :)              ~Erin M.
