   SUMMARY: When Scully got to work that morning, she   
   noticed a trail of candy conversation hearts from the   
   elevator in the basement leading towards the office.   
   NOTES: This was written for the Virtual Season's

   When Scully got to work that morning, she noticed a trail   
   of candy conversation hearts from the elevator in the   
   basement leading towards the office. She inwardly smiled,   
   appreciating this romantic gesture from Mulder. She knew it   
   was his doing. Having been his partner for several years,   
   she loved every aspect about him, especially his tendency   
   for surprise romantic gestures like this.   
      
   And she loved everything about his romantic side. It   
   coupled perfectly alongside with his renewed zest for life.   
      
   She was right - the trail did lead to the basement office.   
      
   He was sitting behind his desk, wearing an Oxford blue   
   dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and navy blue pants.   
   His tie was loosened and he wore the brightest smile, one   
   that she hadn't seen in weeks. His hazel eyes were   
   sparkling with joy and love etched on his beautiful face.   
   "I had a feeling it was you."   
      
   "Aww, Scully, I was hoping that I would surprise you. Who   
   else would it be...unless I have other rivals for your   
   affection...I don't, do I?" Alarm flickered for a second and   
   dulled his eyes.   
      
   She smiled at him in reassurance, shaking her head   
   appreciating the fact that he loved her immensely. "No real   
   surprise. I know what exactly you're saying..." She paused,   
   kissing him.   
      
   He returned the kiss, murmuring underneath his breath while   
   gazing into her clear, blue eyes. "You know?"   
      
   She nodded and embraced him close to her body. "I love you,   
   too."
