As I said, there wouldn't have been a story if Ares had destroyed it.
   But OTOH, maybe
Dahak's magic was too strong for the Olympian gods, and Ares, knowing Xena,
   figured she was the
"best man" for the job. And the only weakness in Dahak's plan was the
   mortality of The Deliverer,
which Dahak, NOT knowing Xena, didn't think to make invulnerable/immortal.

   > Xena was so blinded by her hatred of Caesar and neglected Gabby. I just
don't see it that way and
   > never have.

It seemed to me that Khrafstar deliberately mentioned Caesar's name in
   front of Xena. So
how did he (through Dahak) know of Xena's hatred of Caesar? And apparently he
   also knew she would
be bringing the blood-innocent Gabrielle with her. So, it appears that Dahak
   was orchestrating and
   manipulating Xena's actions all along.
Also, Dahak must have had some kind of influence on Ares to make him select
   Xena to do his dirty
   work.

   > Yes, Xena wanted to go to Britannia to fight Caesar, but she didn't force

   others to the temple?

    Dahak manipulating Gabrielle also?

   > Did Xena tell her to go there for safety? If so, we never saw that. And if

   > just think that blaming Xena in any way for what happened is not warranted.
   >

I think if anyone is blaming Xena, it's Xena, herself. Especially
   after The Deliverer
thanked her for bringing Gabrielle along in her vendetta against Caesar. Xena
   has enough of a
guilty conscious as it is. And this just adds one more layer to it. And
   again, I say Xena and
Ares were being led around by the nose by Dahak.
