           As far as Gabrielle's over-protectiveness of Hope, I always felt that   
   she was still under   
   Dahak's influence just by her physical closeness to Hope. Of course   
   Gabrielle's eternal sunshiny   
   attitude of always looking for the good in everyone could also be a factor.   
   One that was exploited   
   by Dahak.
