   After trying to research this myself and by to RD and VA and other websites,   
   the way I have it figured is that it was originally offered to RD but she   
   declined due to her commitment to Touched by an Angel. It was then offered   
   to VA who accepted, but got sick and couldn't fly to N.Z. so they found a   
   local actress to play the role (remember: at this point, it was just for a   
   guest role in a Herc episode - no thought of her own series). The rest is   
   history and the Xenaverse was born.   
      
   If ever one needed proof of the concepts of "fate" and "destiny", surely   
   this has to be it!!!!
