|    Lucy's 'Come to Mama' Concert and DVD    |
|    16 Jun 07 15:31:01    |
From: davideml@bellsouth.net               Got the DVD a few days ago, and just got around to watching it       today - TWICE!        And all I can say is W - O - W ! !!! !!!        If you didn't go to the concert or haven't seen the DVD, then my       first comment has to       be -- If you thought Lucy was hot on Celeb Duets, then "you ain't seen nuthin'       yet!"        She was just warming up for this. Her performance was nothing less       than Stellar! HOT!       Superb! HOT! Exciting! HOT! And just plain wonderful! Did I mention how       HOT she was?        I was AMAZED at Lucy's stage presence. It was a one-woman show,       and it's a good thing       because she would steal the thunder from anyone she could be paired with (with       one notable       exception, mentioned below).        I DEFY anyone to find one performer who could even come close to       Lucy's magic and       magnetism. Not even the "big" ones - Madonna, Cher, Britney, Christina, or       Beyonce could touch her.        Of course, Renee joined Lucy during the Ray Charles song "What'd I       Say", not one of my       fave songs, but after watching the two of them together, I'm certainly       rethinking my feelings about       it. Lucy and Renee played off each other perfectly. It was kind of too bad       Renee left right after       her part, but after all, it was Lucy's show.        I don't know what the concert-goers paid for their tickets, but       what ever it was, they       were cheap at twice the price.        I got the DVD from Creationent for $25 and about $8 S&H (which I       thought was a bit       high), but after watching the concert, I would gladly pay it again.        After the concert, there are extras of Lucy choosing songs and       rehearsing. And there is       a song list that you can click on and go to that song in the concert. YAY!        Some of the songs I wasn't familiar with, but Lucy rocked and       soared, and brought a       lump to my throat in a couple of them, particularly her closing song, "I'll Be       There For You."        And one more thing. Until I watched Lucy's movements during some       of her songs, I never       thought of her as 'willowly" but with her long, slender arms and her long,       perfectly-toned torso,       she moved like a ballet dancer (or a willow tree gently blowing in the breeze).        I can certainly understand if, after the concert, there were       people saying, "I can die       happy now. It can't get any better that THAT!!"        Yes I'm gushing, but it's only because I am calling like I see it.              David       http://geocities.com/daviderl31/xena.htm       http://geocities.com/daviderl31/GabPics.htm              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
