From: davideml@bellsouth.net              4-09 Past Imperfect                             First air date Jan 4, 1999.               The episode starts with the vision Xena had of Gabrielle being       nailed to a cross in the       snow. Then we hear Gabrielle asking if Xena was sure she (Gabrielle) was       dying. Xena says it was so       real, and Gabrielle refuses to believe it can be true.               They break camp to go to a village called Actus to warn the people       about an advancing       army. Xena wants Gabrielle to stay behind and catch up some rest but Gabrielle       refuses to stay       behind. Xena agrees to let her come but says as soon as the village is warned       they are leaving.               They arrive before the village knows about the attackers. The       general of the army says       half his men are sick. Suddenly the town is bombarded with fireballs. Xena       runs to save a little       girl and when a fireball explodes they are thrown through the air and Xena       bounces off a wall.               Xena has a flashback and she is the Evil Xena with Borias and       Dagnine. They are attacking       Corinth. Xena wants the Ixion stone so she can become the Destroyer of Nations       as Alti promised.       They have captured three Corinthian soldiers and two centaurs.               Back in Actus, Xena tells Gabrielle things are happening like they       did when she attacked       Corinth.               As Xena tells Gabrielle more about her attack on Corinth she       flashbacks again. Evil Xena       is in a tent with a servant girl named Satrina. Borias comes in and tells       Satrina to leave, but       Xena tells her to stay. Borias tells Xena the Corinthians are behind the city       walls and now they       can attack Athens. Xena still wants the Ixion stone. Her unborn child       painfully kicks, and Borias       suggests they wait until she gives birth. She refuses, saying her empire is       more important than her       child. Borias leaves angry.               Satrina tells Xena that Borias loves her, and reminds her of her       former master, Demayeus,       that Xena killed. She says when he attacked Rhodes, he had poisoned grain       captured which made the       soldiers sick, and he tunneled underneath the city walls until they collapsed.       Xena says she is       using all the digging equipment to find the Ixion stone, but likes the       poisoned grain idea.               In Actus, a soldier tells Xena the general is dead, he is in now in       command but has no       battle experience, so Xena takes over the army.              Xena realizes poisoned grain has made the men sick. Xena wants Gabrielle to       stay in the hospital,       but Gabrielle refuses. She says she isn't going to hide there, and goes to       form a fire brigade.              Xena, Gabrielle and some soldiers sneak out of the city to try to break down a       dam so there will be       plenty of water getting into the city.              Xena flashes back to the river going into Corinth. Borias talked her into       releasing the centaurs       but Xena had Dagnine kill the soldiers so their bodies would float into       Corinth as shock value.              In the present, enemy soldiers wait until they are at the dam, then rise up       out of the water and       attack. Just as Xena tells her men to retreat, she sees the craggy,       four-peaked mountain she saw in       her vision.              Back in the village, Xena asks Gabrielle if she saw the mountain. Gabrielle       guesses it was in her       vision. Xena asks her what if this is the place it happens, and Gabrielle       tells her it isn't.              Flashback to Evil Xena about to give birth. Borias can't wait. Xena knows he       will take the baby       from her.              Instead of making peace with the Centaurs, Dagnine has captured Kaleipus and       another one. Xena       still wants the Ixion stone and is willing to make war on the Centaurs. She       orders Dagnine to kill       them but Borias begins to fight to save them. He cuts the ropes tying their       hands and the two       centaurs also fight. Xena throws a knife at Kaleipus and puts out his left       eye. Borias jumps on       Kaleipus' back and they escape. Xena says they are at war with the Centaurs       and Boris is their       ally. She vows there will be a line of crucified bodies all the way from       Corinth to the Caspian       Sea.              In the present, Xena realizes someone is using her own tactics against her.       And she wonders how to       defeat herself.              Again, Xena is trying to save Gabrielle, this time by creating a diversion so       Gabrielle can escape       the city, but Gabrielle refuses again, saying, "Xena, I don't believe in your       vision. I can't       afford to! Now, either I prove you wrong-- and we go on from here-- or I prove       you right-- and we       die. But either way-- I will not continue like this."              Xena goes outside the city wall and enters the tunnel being dug.              A quick flashback to Xena about to give birth and Satrina is giving her a       potion from the santra       bush, a narcotic, to ease the birth, and afterward she'll give her kala root       to counteract the       santra potion.              Inside the tunnel, Xena is hit from behind with a poisoned dart and she gets       woozy. She sees who       shot the dart - Satrina in warrior garb, then passes out.              Satrina tells her men to get out of the tunnel and the next morning they will       collapse the wall.              Satrina tells the barely conscious Xena that she was actually Demayeus'       partner and lover and when       Xena killed him she saw her opportunity to study Xena. And she had to continue       studying her so she       couldn't let Borias see Xena when their son was born.              Flashback to Borias' army attacking Xena's camp. Borias sneaks into Xena's       tent. He goes out the       front to prepare a wagon to take Xena away. Satrina tells him she will help,       then stabs him in the       thigh with a knife. She tells him her destiny is an empire and he'll spoil it.       Satrina yells to       Dagnine that Borias is there to kill Xena. They fight and Dagnine eventually       stabs Borias twice in       the back with a sword.              Xena has her baby, and when Satrina takes her out to the wagon, Xena shows       Borias his son's face       just before he dies.              In the present, Satrina chides Xena for not staying and taking Corinth.              Satrina has the columns rigged so when the first one falls, ropes will pull       the others down. Xena       tells her the poisoned grain was the key - who would know about it? Then she       shows that she ate       kala root before she came in and wasn't drugged at all. She loops a rope       around Satrina's neck is       about to choke her. She blames Satrina for killing Borias, and if he had lived       her son would have       [survived]. But she won't taint Borias' memory by killing her.              Satrina calls for her men when she realizes the soldiers of Actus have       tunneled from the other end.       Satrina pulls down the first column but Xena cuts the rope with her Chakram.       Satrina gets away.                     [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
