    Probably so, but if they showed blood everymen someone was killed, it   
   would be a bloodfest   
   and probably would turn off a lot of more sensitive viewers. And possibly they   
   wanted to reserve   
   the bloody weapon for Gabrielle's shock when she realized what she was doing.
