           For some reason, the comments Lucy made about playing Xena's feelings   
   toward Eve   
   differently stuck in my head. That sounds very familiar. I'm sure Lucy must   
   have said something   
   like that about an earlier episode because my question about that seems SO   
   familiar --- I always   
   thought it was the director who decided how an actor will portray a character.   
           Lucy left the impression that she could pretty much depict Xena and   
   her feelings and   
   actions how SHE thought they should be.   
           But ----  of course she  IS Lucy -- the star of the show!  And her   
   husband IS the producer,   
   etc., etc. So I'm sure her input and suggestions carry (carried) a LOT of   
   weight. And as I do   
   remember her saying sometime, somewhere, she knows Xena better than anyone.   
      
           One other thing I've been meaning to mention -- we've gotten so much   
   of Xena's early life   
   (in China, with Borias, Lao Ma, and so forth) but we never have seen any   
   flashbacks of Gabrielle's   
   early days. Obviously, they wouldn't be as exciting as Xena's, but still I   
   would have liked some   
   kind info about her teen years, or something about what her life was like just   
   before Xena came   
   into it.
