       Just out of curiosity, I decided to Google Mogador. Turns out there really   
   WAS such a city, in   
   Morocco (it's now called Essaouria).   
       In order to get there from Greece, their ship had to go west until it   
   passed through the   
   Straits of Gibraltar, then turn south and go about four hundred miles to the   
   west coast of Morocco.   
   Quite a long journey.
