By the way, yesterday I read about how the ancient Egyptians called
their southern neighbours, the Nubians, "the dark-skinned people" and
"the curly-haired people" in a pejorative way, which would have made
little sense if the Egyptians had been looking just like them, and they
also portrayed the Nubians as distinctly more dark-skinned and "African"
   looking.

Anwar El Sadat, interestingly, had a Sudanese mother, and was strikingly
darker than other Egyptians, but still did not look fully "African".

Therefore, portraying Egyptians as black is just Afrocentrist nonsense.
